Introduction

Matt was a three-sport athlete growing up playing baseball, basketball and football.  Matt was recruited to play D-II football at Southern Connecticut State University as a wide receiver but after a short stint with the team he decided to fully pursue his Criminal Justice degree.  Throughout college and thereafter Matt played as many rec league sports as he could all the while spending countless hours in the gym lifting weights.

After he and his wife had their first child Kennedy he lost sight of his fitness for a few years and gained roughly 40 pounds.  It was causing him to be troubled with high blood pressure and anxiety from eating poorly and not exercising as he once did.  In early 2015 he found CrossFit Combustion.  He has since been able to drop the 40 pounds, probably add countless pounds of muscle all through CrossFit and a diet rich in whole foods.  Matt now competes locally in CrossFit Competitions and has finished 1st and 2nd in two of them.  At this point in his journey he wants to use the skills he has learned from CrossFit and nutrition and teach and coach those coming into the community for the first time.

Matt lives in Spring Hill with his wife Heather and their two girls, Kennedy and Reese.
